Basics of Cleaning Kitchen Tile
Keeping a clean kitchen for most of use also involves frequent cleaning of kitchen tile and grout. Tile cleaning on a regular basis is the best way to maintain a clean kitchen and long lasting tile and grout. Neglected tile can take a lot longer to clean. The good news is that most people should be able to effectively clean their kitchen tile and grout in about 20 minutes or les. Below are a couple kitchen tile cleaning tips to help you start:
Carefully pre-clean the kitchen and the kitchen floors before starting. This will definitely require sweeping and may even require light mopping as well.
With the pre-cleaning out of the way, you should carefully select a tile cleaner that will not only disinfectant but will also help to remove the dirt out of the tile grout. I like to use soft scrub, Tilex, or even a diluted concentration of bleach. (Some people even recommend vinegatr, but I just don't like the smell of that stuff.)
Spray the grout and tile cleaner on the floors and the counter tops. Allow it 10 to 12 minutes to soak in and do its job. Then scrub the tiled area with a scrub brush. After that rinse (or wipe up) the grout and dry it with a towel.
If for some reason, you still have grout stains, you can try cleaning it again with stronger concentrations of vinegar of bleach. If after a few harsh the stain persist, you may nbeed to user grout colorant or a grouting paint to help you get the job done properly. You could also try using a grouting pen which is designed to bleach the grout and help to restore it back to its original color. Grout pain, on the other will cover up the stain, but it may also help seal the grout so that is harder to get it dirty in the future.
