ORGANIC GROUT CLEANING vrs CHEMICALS?
With the modernization of our world goes also the modernization of basic household chores, even to the cleaning of the tile grout. Organic grout cleaners are not used nearly as often. The presence of commercial agents has increased dramatically over the turn of the century replacing almost overnight the age-old recipes in housecleaning. They have almost replaced the natural products that most people in this modern times do not recognize them anymore. But is which is more effective, natural or synthetic?
NATURAL GROUT CLEANERS
The only downside to the natural grout cleaners is that they require more soaking time and sometimes you need to repeat the procedure over again.
But it is undeniable, if you use natural cleaners they are safe, non-toxic, inexpensive and easy to mix. They are readily available in the market and you do not have any problem of disposing them since they are biodegradable and nature-friendly. 100% they do not pose a threat to your health (especially to children), to your pets and to environment.
So, does this mean that synthetic cleaners are definitely out of the list? Let us look,
SYNTHETIC CLEANERS
You must agree, commercial synthetic cleaners are here to stay. They are available in every supermarket nationwide. TheY come in different concentration and cut down soaking time significantly. They start to work almost instantly the moment they touch the surface of the grout. Repetition of procedure is seldom and one must have to agree that they cleanse deeper on the first application than natural products.
The downside? They are not safe that’s why they always carry the mark: KEEP OUT OF THE
REACH OF CHILDREN. They are toxic and most cost more. You cannot dispose of them as you would a natural cleaner. And the worst, they shorten the lifespan of your grout if used regularly.
Let us draw the conclusion - NATURAL OR SYNTHETIC?
Based on the pros and cons above it would be best to use natural cleaners as a regular grout cleaner. But in the long run, since dirt will go deeper and deeper into the grout no matter how you clean it properly, then it will be the time synthetic cleaners are needed.
